Estimated by the German Technical Control Board, every second road death is caused by drunken drivers. In a most practical way the Foerst company software permits a close view on the effects and risks of drunk driving. As an example, a trainee drives a short distance under normal conditions, then the effects of alcohol on his vision are generated on the screen and a time shift is switched on. Due to this delayed the car automatically “wiggles” and the driver has to struggle to avoid any obstacles which may appear. Due to a dramatically increased reaction time when driving under the influence of alcohol it is nearly impossible to perform an emergency braking. On the screen both blurred vision and tunnel vision are generated to demonstrate the effects of alcohol on your vision.
 

In addition, this module can also demonstrate the effects of different alcoholic beverages on your driving. “Sober”, the trainee will drive a on a rural road towards a pub where he can then choose between different amounts of alcoholic beverages to drink. When continuing to drive he will then be demonstrated the immediate effects on his fitness to drive. Another option is the possibility to drive a standard route requiring a certain amount of evasion or braking manouevres. A special replay then shows the driver how his reaction at these points may have been under the influence of alcohol. The software module supports various types of weather (fair weather, fog, rain, snow, night).
